First JB MDL Marine commander bids farewell
The Marine Forces Reserve Band New Orleans provided entertainment as they paraded in front of guests of honor and attendees as Marine Aircraft Group 49 Commanding Officer, Col. Christopher J. Papaj, relinquished command to Col. Robert T. Tobin III June 16 here. Papaj thanked the band for their third visit to MAG 49 since he took command in July 2010, “You were also here when I took command and for the opening of our new facility, you add something special to each event. I was once told, ‘If you come in with a band and you leave with a band, you must have done alright.’” Papaj hails from Glendale, Calif. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Denise Johnson/Released)
