Air Mobility Command Chief, Chief Master Sgt. Richard Kaiser, selected Airman 1st Class Maria Navarro as AMC command chief Airman of the Week. The AMC Commnad Chief Facebook page offered many congratulations to Navarro. "With only 18 months in the service, she has truly 'hit the ground running'; won the 87th Air Base Wing Airman of the Qtr for Jan – Mar 12, averaged 96% on five career development course volumes – earned her 5-level, scored 100 percent on her AF PT test – coined by the Wing/CC, pioneered a new gas mask training video used to instruct 750 Airmen, organized flight visits to a NJ Veteran’s home – talked with/gave out gifts to 300 residents, finished difficult Chemical, Biological and Nuclear Cell course – youngest Airman ever be selected to attend/finished #2 in class of 25, played on the undefeated squadron volleyball team – 2012 base champions, the only Airman on the Open House planning team – recognized by the AF Thunderbirds for her outstanding work. Everything Airman Navarro is involved with has simply blossomed and shined beyond any expectations."
