Parade of Wreaths honors fallen heroes

First Lt. Dempsey Bird, 87th Communications Squadron operations flight commander, walks to lay the first wreath for the Tommy B. McGuire Foundation under the P-38 Lightning in Pudgy’s Circle for the Parade of Wreaths Ceremony May 24 here. Bird hails from Elverson, Pa. The wreath laying is a tribute to those who gave their lives in service to our country. Guest speakers were Brig. Gen. Scott P. Goodwin, U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center commandant, and Lt. Col. Matthew M. Wilson, N.J. State Police deputy superintendent of investigations. The ceremony also featured a U.S. Marine Corps helicopter flyover, the N.J.
