JB MDL Quilts for Kids
Army Col. Joseph Whitlock, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst deputy commander, and Air Force Col. Chris Luedtke, 87th Mission Support Group commander, stopped by the Arts and Crafts Center April 14 to show their appreciation and to coin the JB MDL volunteers of Quilts for Kids. The group of approximately 15 volunteers has produced 832 quilts since 2004 for children with life-threatening illnesses and victims of abuse. The group meets at the Arts and Crafts Center on the second Tuesday of every month to gather material, discuss ideas and plan projects they work on during the next month. The group is open to anyone interested in quilting. Contact Jacquie Longacre at 321-6495 for more information. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Bryan Swink/Released)
