Sgt. Edward Oryll, a tank mechanic with the 750th Tank Battalion, pictured here died March 3, 1945 saving the life of a fellow Soldier and friend, bringing great credit to himself, the 750th Tank Battalion and the U.S. Army. Oryll was awarded five medals to include: the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Army Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal posthumously during the ceremony March 9 at ASA-Dix Headquarters.
