Marine TRAP exercise
Staff Sgt. John Lastinger, a crew chief with the Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 773, loads a belt of 7.62mm rounds into an ammunition can to be fired during a Joint Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel exercise Oct. 15 here. Lastinger performed an inspection on both the UH-1N Iroquois helicopter and the M240 machine gun, which he and Lance Cpl. Ryan Jackson, a crew chief with HMLA 773, used during the exercise to lay down cover fire. The Joint TRAP exercise tested the Reservists’ ability to recover downed aircrew from behind enemy lines. Lastinger hails from Victoria, Texas. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Dennis L. Sloan/Released)
