Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., security forces members strapped an American flag and a security forces Defensive Fortis flag to their ruck sacks before setting out on the last leg of the Air Force 9/11 March to Remember on Sept. 11, 2011, in New York City. The security forces members marched from the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum to Battery Park, where 2,796 flags covered the area to honor each person who died on 9/11. The ruck march started at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, on July 17, 2011, and was completed with the help of 23 units carrying the guide-on up to New York City.
