U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center commander
Brig. Gen. William Bender is the commander of the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. As the commander, he oversees the Air Force's center of excellence for advanced expeditionary combat support training and education. The center houses the Mobility Operations School, Expeditionary Operations School and Expeditionary Center Support Directorate. The USAF EC partners with Air Staff, Air Education and Training Command and the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center to provide a disciplined training process that assures the right skills are taught at the right time across the expeditionary enterprise. The USAF EC has 396 personnel assigned and offers 92 in-residence courses and 19 web-based training courses graduating more than 24,000 students annually.
