JB MDL Survivor Outreach Services
On behalf of Survivor Outreach Services, Hearts Apart and the Soldier and Family Readiness Center, volunteers Maryann Campbell, Maureen Genuardi, Pat Mulvey and Ida Gonzalez gathered at the SFAC building Dec. 8 to wrap holiday packages and construct holiday wreaths. The presents, intended for deployed servicemember’s children, were donated by Butterfly Circle of Friends, a non-profit organization formed by the Gonzalez family of Spotswood, N.J., in honor of their son, Spc. Michael L. Gonzalez, killed in combat in Baghdad, Aug. 28, 2008. Volunteers, alongside Soldiers assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit, wrapped dozens of personalized presents and moved right on to mission number two: decorating wreaths for local spouses and families of fallen servicemembers. For more information on these programs, contact Amada Espinosa at 562-2767. (U.S. Army photo/Capt. Antonia Greene)
