McGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- A Joint Assessment Team -- first responders consisting of eight Airmen, an Army Surface Element, and a DoD Disaster Control Element team -- deployed to Puerto Rico Aug. 16 in preparation for Hurricane Dean. The JAT will provide an overall assessment of the hurricane’s impact and will determine the personnel and assets needed for any recovery operation. 1st Lt.
