multinational C-17 refueling
With Swedish and U.S. Air Force pilots in the cockpit, the first C-17 Globemaster III to belong to a 12-nation strategic airlift initiative approaches a Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst tanker to receive 65,000 pounds of fuel in flight over the Atlantic Ocean July 17, courtesy of a 32nd Air Refueling Squadron crew. Despite the KC-10 crew's jokes that boom operator Master Sgt. Jody Riggs might "leave his mark" on the new C-17, the refueling went smoothly and enabled the aircraft to reach its destination - Pápa Air Base, Hungary. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
