JFEX0906
Airmen from the 621st Contingency Response Wing construct razor wire fences around their camp perimeter during a noncombatant evacuation exercise at Mackall Army Airfield, N.C., June 22-26. While the exercise scenario started peacefully in the fictional African country of Chatu, CRW Airmen set-up perimeter defenses and manned defensive fighting positions as the situation became hostile. After paratroopers from the Army's 82nd Airborne Division jumped in to provide support and escort American citizens to the airfield, CRW Airmen loaded more than 1,000 passengers and 40 short tons of cargo onto C-17 and C-130 aircraft for evacuation.
