Senior Airman Darren Pleasant, 21st Air Mobility Operation Squadron satellite communication specialist, connects a wire to the Universal Satellite Communication disc at a deployed location in West Central Africa. Members of the 21st AMOS provide satellite communication, including Internet communication and phone-service capabilities, to the members of the U.S. Navy 11th Construction Mobile Team Battalion in support of Africa Partnership Station 2009. The APS 09 is a joint multi-national initiative under the auspices of Naval Forces from Europe and Africa, which is designed to work in cooperation with United States, European and African partners to enhance maritime safety, provide humanitarian assistance, and increase security on the African continent.
