Vigilant Guard Exercise

Technical Sgt. Rob Hidalgo and Master Sgt. Lamar Heard, members of the 817th Contingency Response Group's "Alpha Mike" airfield assessment team use a laser range finder to take the measurements of a proposed landing strip during the Vigilant Guard exercise held in Puerto Rico, March 3-9. A unique capability of the CRGs, the airfield assessment teams have the ability to deploy anywhere in the world and make an airfield suitability recommendation within 24 hours.
