Can Do Crew - Carol Spencer

Col. Balan Ayyar, 305th Air Mobility Wing commander, presents a Can Do Crew award to Carol Spencer, Airman and Family Readiness Center community readiness consultant. “Ms. Spencer epitomized the ‘Can Do’ spirit Oct. 13, Columbus Day, when she aided a young Airman who was in dire need of monetary assistance. The Airman needed a Falcon Loan to help cover expenses associated with dental care for her husband; dental surgery was to take place later that afternoon. To top matters off, the Airman had recently been released from the hospital after undergoing minor surgery. Without a second thought or hesitation, Ms. Spencer volunteered her off-duty time and reported to work at 8 a.m. that day to meet the member and assist her with the Air Force Aid Society’s Falcon Loan application process. From start to finish, the Air Force member was able to receive the necessary funding within 45 minutes, which helped alleviate any stress and anxiety she was experiencing. Ms. Spencer’s ‘Can Do’ work ethic, spirit, and professionalism are a direct reflection on the A&FRC and Team McGuire. I’m glad we have this member on our team.”
