305th MXS sheet metal shop ensures structural integrity of airframes
Staff Sgt. Lynn Plemons, 305th Maintenance Squadron Maintenance Fabrication Flight training manager, removes rivets on a KC-10 engine core cowl. Defective rivets or fasteners need to be removed and replaced with new ones. A-Check inspections are performed by crew chiefs; any discrepancies are then passed on to applicable specialists, such as aircraft structural specialists, hydraulics specialists and/or the metal or avionics shops.
