Can Do Crew - Capt. Gina Sortor

Left, Col. Balan Ayyar, 305th Air Mobility Wing commander, presents a Can Do Crew award to Capt. Gina Sortor, 305th Contracting Squadron. Captain Sortor has been instrumental in delivering unsurpassed leadership and mission support to the 305th CONS while back-filling for several 305th CONS deployed members. Captain Sortor demonstrated singular leadership and exceptional management skills by personally working with the Military Personnel Element to validate late performance reports, decorations, and other personnel programs. She worked innumerable hours and countless weekends to return the 305th CONS personnel program to superior caliber. This required her to assist multiple supervisors in crafting the required documents. Captain Sortor implemented a one-shop review process, which reduced the cycle time from 21 days to a mere seven days to include transit time. She has implemented numerous other process improvements for reducing cost and man-hours. With low manning (62 percent) and ever-increasing requirements, Captain Sortor has had the greatest impact on sustaining and improving the 305th CONS personnel programs. Be aware that the Can Do Crew is everywhere, looking for outstanding service. They covertly seek members of Team McGuire who make a difference, identifying and recognizing only the best! Remember, the strongest asset of Team McGuire is its people; you are what makes McGuire a better place to live, work and play!
