Morning memorial reflections
On the grounds of Fort Meyer, Va., and near the city of Arlington and Arlington National Cemetery, the Air Force Memorial towers 270 feet into the morning sky Dec. 5, 2008. The memorial, officially dedicated on Oct. 14, 2006, with its three stainless steel spires impart a sense of accomplishment in command of the sky, and evoke the image of the precision ?bomb burst? maneuver performed by the Air Force Thunderbirds.
