Lakehurst is lighter than air
A U.S. Navy airship circles over Hangar 1 on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, June 15, 2016. The airship belongs to the Naval Air Systems Command, headquartered in Patuxent River, Maryland, and is housed inside Hangar 1 on the Lakehurst side of MDL when not in use. In the 1930's, Lakehurst served as one home for the Navy's rigid airship program, constructing vessels that were lighter than air. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Lauren Pitts)
