18th Air Force command visits JB MDL

Airman 1st Class Christopher Pacheco, 305th Aerial Port Squadron, shows Lt. Gen. Sam Cox, 18th Air Force commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Todd Petzel, 18th AF command chief, around the squadron’s freight terminal Oct. 12. The squadron recently received the 2016 Verne Orr Award for its ability to effectively use available resources to accomplish their mission. During the award period, the 305th APS moved 78,000 tons of cargo, airlifted more than 190,000 passengers and launched 99 percent of 9,000 airlift missions on-time.
