Providing results: 87th Medical Group laboratory continues mission during COVID-19
Senior Airman William Jones, 87th Medical Group medical laboratory technician, conducts a polymerase chain reaction test on a sample to determine if it will come back positive or negative for COVID-19, April 20, 2020, on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. During the test, DNA is amplified to detect possible traces of COVID-19 that will determine if the patient will need additional treatment to fight the virus. From April 19-25, the 87 MDG is celebrating Medical Laboratory Professionals Week to recognize the critical work each laboratory member provides patients on a daily basis.
