Meet Joint Base MDL’s Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate
Christina Hernandez 87th Medical Group Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate, poses for a photo at the Family Advocacy office on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Sept. 30, 2020. Tasked with a mission to support a healthy Air Force community, the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) develops, implements and evaluates policies and programs which help prevent, and intervene in instances of spousal mistreatment. According to feedback from a Department of Defense assessment, victims who worked with an advocate reported knowing more about their rights and options than those who didn’t consult one for help.
