Military Working Dogs and Marines and Helicopters, Oh My!
A Military Working Dog assigned to the 87th Security Forces Squadron conducts a bomb detection training at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. on Oct. 16, 2022. Defenders with 87th SFS K-9 section took part in a joint training with Marines to familiarize the Military Working Dogs with the transportation by helicopter. This skillset was developed for the qualification purposes of bomb detection in deployed environments, where certain terrain may only be accessible by air transportation.
