Generating Airpower: Maintenance's Last Line of Defense

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jalen Castillo, 305th Maintenance Squadron sheets metal technology journeyman, prepares a tungsten welding machine to weld together a rack to sectionalize different metals on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Mar. 23, 2023. Sheet metal technicians are responsible for repairing, replacing, or creating parts for aircraft structures and ground equipment. Using a variety of tools, they ensure that the total force is fully equipped with sheet metal parts that meet and exceed mission demands.
