Out with the old, in with the new: New PAR system at JB MDL
Jorge Caceres, Naval Information Warfare Center mechanical engineer and Jonathan White, Trandes Corporation engineering technician V, set up a Moving Target Indication Reflector as part of the newly installed AN/FPN-68 Precision Approach Radar system at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., July 17, 2025. The MTI Reflectors send a signal to the PAR system, which gets sent to the Bell UH-1Y and Bell AH-1Z--used by U.S. Marine’s assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 49--to indicate where they can safely land.
