Marines to conduct range training

010313 | March 7, 2013

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. — The 3rd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment; the Marine Wing Support Squadron 472; and the 2nd Battalion 25th Marine Regiment from Garden City, N.Y., are scheduled to conduct firing training at the Dix ranges between March 8-10.

Training is scheduled to occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America's fighting force. As a result of these units performing their important training, residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges and may experience possible ground shaking. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst works hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities and is committed to remaining good neighbors.
