Marines to conduct mortar-fire training at Joint Base

Members of the G Company 2nd Battalion 25th Marines out of Picatinny Arsenal New Jersey are scheduled to conduct day and night mortar firing at the joint base ranges Nov. 30 through Dec. 1, 2012.

Training is scheduled to occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. both days.

This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America's fighting force. As a result of this important training, some residents may hear more noise than usual coming from the ranges and may experience possible ground shaking. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst works hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities and is committed to remaining good neighbors.

Contact the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Public Affairs Office at (609) 754-2104 with any questions or concerns.
