NJ Guard to conduct artillery-fire training Published Oct. 12, 2012 By 12102 JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- Members of the 3rd Battalion, 112th Field Artillery, are scheduled to conduct artillery-fire training at the Dix ranges throughout the weekend. The New Jersey Army National Guard unit's firing of 105mm cannons is scheduled to cease by 11 p.m. each day. This training is essential and helps to ensure the readiness of America's fighting force. As a result of this important training, some residents may hear more noise than usual coming from our ranges and may experience possible ground shaking. It is important to note that noise from the ranges may travel farther during overcast weather conditions. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst works hard to minimize the impact training has on its surrounding communities and is committed to remaining good neighbors.
