Media Invited to Cover Air Refueling Mission with McGuire KC-10 and USAF Thunderbirds Published May 27, 2008 By 080527 McGuire Air Force Base, N.J. -- McGuire Air Force Base will offer accredited local and regional media an opportunity to fly aboard a McGuire KC-10 Extender aircraft, during which it will refuel the Thunderbirds - the U.S. Air Force Aerial Demonstration Team - May 29. During the flight, media will have the opportunity to witness the Thunderbirds' F-16 aircraft being refueled while en route to McGuire Air Force Base for the 2008 Air Expo. The Thunderbirds will be the headliner for the air exposition on May 31 and June 1. Media representatives interested in participating in the flight must RSVP with the 305th AMW Public Affairs Office at (609) 754-2104 no later than 2 p.m. May 28. Late RSVPs will not be accepted. Media must arrive at McGuire's main gate via Defense Access Road by 7 a.m. May 29. Media representatives arriving May 29 who have not previously provided an RSVP will not be permitted on base. -30- Note 1: Media RSVP must include first and last name, Social Security Number, date of birth and media affiliation, emergency contact first and last name, phone number and gender. Note 2: Media representatives must provide valid proof of media affiliation, driver's license, vehicle registration and auto insurance card.
