The Philadelphia Zoo will have a new temporary exhibit, May 27, in honor of Air Force Week Philadelphia.

Various Air Force displays, including a Bird Air Strike Hazard Falconer and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal robot will be positioned throughout the zoo. In addition, several members of the Air Force medical, aviation and support fields will be on hand to answer questions and discuss today's Air Force.

Throughout the day, visitors can watch Air Force videos and public service announcements, visit a photo area to get your picture taken with a uniformed member, and enjoy vehicle and equipment displays and demonstrations. There will also be a heritage "Parade of Uniforms" display where you can uniforms of past to present.

"We invite the community to come out and learn more about how the Air Force works together to support our nation's defense," said Lt. Col. Pete Carrabba, Air Force Week event coordinator. "Air Force Day at the Philadelphia Zoo is a great way to talk to Airmen and experience the Air Force in one location."

Air Force Week in Philadelphia will run May 26 - June 2 and provide communities in the Philadelphia metro region the opportunity to see the significant contributions, assets and talents of the U.S. Air Force and its Airmen. The week-long event will culminate with the 2008 McGuire Air Expo, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team, May 31 and June 1.
