Independence Mall Celebration to Feature U.S. Air Force Published May 16, 2008 By 080516 MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- Independence Hall in Philadelphia will play host to an outdoor celebration in honor of Air Force Week in Philadelphia, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Titled "Global Air Force Challenges," this unique event will feature an outdoor music concert by the U. S. Air Force Heritage of America Band. Activities will also include exhibition booths, a parade of uniforms, and a keynote speaker. Visitors can enjoy their lunch on the lawn and view an Explosive Ordnance Disposal robot and other displays and demonstrations. Snacks will also be available. "Air Force Week is a fantastic way for us to tell our story and thank members of our communities for their ongoing support," said Lt. Col. Anna Morris, Air Force Week event coordinator. "The celebration at Independence Hall is one of many events that will demonstrate the time and resources dedicated to developing the future leaders of America." The week-long event, May 26 - June 2, gives communities in the Philadelphia metro region an opportunity to see the significant contributions, assets and talents of the U.S. Air Force and our Airmen. Air Force Week will culminate with the 2008 McGuire Air Expo, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team, May 31 and June 1.
