McGuire Air Force Base recently added Matt Chapman as a performer for the 2008 McGuire Air Expo here May 31-June 1.

Mr. Chapman will fly the Embry-Riddle Eagle 580, joining over 15 other performers during the two-day event, themed "Above All...Be Inspired.' This is a free event and open to the public and will showcase our country's rich aviation history as well as highlight the capabilities of the today's military aircraft.

Mr. Chapman has been flying aerobatics since 1984, achieved a one of only five spots on the prestigious U.S. unlimited Men's Aerobatic Team in 1996 and 1998 and was the best American pilot in the 1998 World Aerobatic Championships, finishing third overall.

"It is so rewarding being sponsored by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with their long history of success in aviation and aerospace. It gives me the opportunity to meet students, alumni, corporate and military professionals from coast to coast who are as passionate about aviation as I am," said Mr. Chapman.

The Embry Riddle Worldwide Campus at McGuire provides educational opportunities to military and civilian students in areas of Aeronautical Science, Professional Aeronautics and Technical management.

The two-day McGuire Air Expo will culminate Air Force Week in Philadelphia activities and feature performances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the USAF F-15E Strike Eagle, the USAF F-16 Viper East, and the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet demonstration teams. A large number of current and former military aircraft, including the base's own C-17 Globemaster III, the KC-10 Extender and the KC-135 Stratotanker, will also be on display.
