Team McGuire will host a send-off event on Saturday at 7 a.m. for competition teams departing for Air Mobility Command's premier international competition, Air Mobility Rodeo 2007, at McChord Air Force Base, Wash.

This year, Team McGuire is sending teams from the 305th Air Mobility Wing, 514th Air Mobility Wing and the 621st Contingency Response Wing to Rodeo that consist of maintenance, security forces, aerial port personnel and aircrew members from the KC-10 and C-17 aircraft.

"This competition will show us what we did well and what we could do better," said Lt. Col. Craig Cady, 305th Air Mobility Wing Rodeo team chief. "Every team member has been preparing for Rodeo by practicing their skills and participating in weekly physical conditioning."

The Rodeo competition, which takes place Monday to July 28, focuses on readiness, and features airdrop, air refueling, and other events showcasing security forces, aerial port, maintenance and aeromedical evacuation personnel. In addition, the event also provides critical war-fighter training and skills enhancement in all aspects of mobility operations.

"It's been great to see all the support we received from within the 514th and elsewhere," said Maj. Rick Berls, 514th Air Mobility Wing Rodeo team chief. "We really feel that McGuire and the Air Force Reserve Command are behind us for this event."

With more than 55 teams scheduled to participate in this year's event, active-duty and Reserve Air Force, Air National Guard and Allied Nations will demonstrate their capabilities as they compete against each other. In addition, AMC's Rodeo is an opportunity to "train for the fight" while strengthening bonds with international partners.
