87th LRS Hosts Inaugural Cross-Utilization Course
August 3, 2023 — The 87th Logistics Readiness Squadron successfully created and hosted its inaugural Cross-Utilization Training course at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., July 17-28, 2023. Instructors from the 87th LRS, 305th Aerial Port Squadron, and the 373rd Training Squadron, Detachment 301 facilitated the Utilization Course which incorporated a comprehensive curriculum, combining classroom-based learning and hands-on training that can be utilized in a deployed environment. ... The course was developed to implement Air Force Force Generation principles and support operational concepts such as Agile Combat Employment through 10 days of intensive training. The collaboration between 87th LRS, 373rd Training Squadron, Detachment 301, and 305th Air Mobility Wing personnel enabled the use of Multi-Capable Airmen Concepts by building their proficiency, knowledge, and comfort in different Air Force Specialty Codes.

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 113th Infantry Regiment conduct a platoon attack drill at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. on Oct. 15, 2022. During the drill the platoon lead squad locates and suppresses the enemy, establishes supporting fire, and assaults the enemy position using fire and maneuver. The platoon destroys or causes the enemy to withdraw and conducts consolidation and reorganization thereafter. Once the platoon conducts action on enemy contact, the squad or section in contact reacts to contact by immediately returning well-aimed fire on known enemy positions. Dismounted Soldiers assume the nearest covered positions available and the element in contact attempts to achieve suppressive fires. Once achieved, the element leader notifies the platoon leader of the action.
