Competitors employ a range of skills relevant to today’s operating environment, including physical endurance, land navigation, marksmanship, weapons skills, and overall combat readiness.

U.S. Army Cadet Command 2nd "Freedom" Brigade holds Ranger Challenge 22

U.S. Army ROTC Cadets assigned to the U.S. Army Cadet Command 2nd Brigade accept awards for placing first overall during the Ranger Challenge at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. on Oct. 23, 2022.The competition is conducted over two days on a non-tactical course. The mission is to challenge Cadets' mental and physical toughness and to develop leadership while fostering teamwork and esprit-de-corps. Teams participate in nine graded events, each team is awarded points based on how well they perform in each event. The best team in each event is awarded a trophy for being the first, second, and third place teams. The number one team is The Ranger Challenge Winner for that year.

U.S. Army Aviation Ramp MILCON Amplifies Readiness and Sustainment Capabilities

U.S. Army Col. Mitchell Wisniewski, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst deputy commander, and Army Support Activity Fort Dix commander, and U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. James Van Zlike, Army Support Activity Fort Dix command sergeant major, cut a ribbon during the Army Support Activity Fort Dix Aviation Facility ribbon cutting ceremony at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst N.J. on Aug. 19, 2022. The Army Aviation Facility Project was a MILCON effort valued at 11.7 million dollars and made possible through the joint effort of ASA Fort Dix and the U.S. Marine Corps Marine Aircraft Group 49. The 2100 square foot building is host to an Army Ramp Management Area which provides a wide range of capabilities for both fixed and rotary wing aircraft such as the C-130, CH-47S, and UH-60S. The addition of the new Army Ramp will provide enhanced load out and aviation operation training capabilities, parking for Army aviation aircraft, refueling, troop movement and flight planning operations for approximately 216,000 people that use JB MDL to meet readiness requirements.

table IV STRYKER gunnery exercises to enhance combat readiness. During a table IV exercise, STRYKER 
teams conduct target detection, identification, and engagement both stationary and moving. The 
111th Infantry Regiment has Colonial roots in the American Revolution and was founded by Benjamin 
Franklin on Nov. 21, 1747. It is Pennsylvania’s oldest regiment and often assisted George 
Washington and the Continental Army alongside the
Delaware River.
