Joint Warfighters Explode into the Indo-Pacific Theater
July 11, 2024 — The 'Can Do’ Wing and members from the 87th Air Base Wing displayed their Explodeo capabilities during the Valiant Shield exercise, June 5-18, 2024, integrating secure beyond line of sight and line of sight connectivity capabilities to maneuver the joint force in a contested, degraded, or denied information environment. Valiant Shield allows Air Mobility Command and joint forces to practice their ability to receive timely and relevant intelligence data to make decisions and enable dynamic mission generation and execution. Atlantic Strike Team enhances joint operational capabilities
February 14, 2024 — Airmen assigned to the 621st Contingency Response Wing and 305th Air Mobility Wing team up with members of the U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Strike Team to load cargo onto a C-17 Globemaster III at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Feb. 8, 2024. The joint exercise included the loading and offloading of equipment and vehicles onto a C-17, as well as various inspections and documentation. Single Service Members 'dive' into the BOSS Program
August 14, 2023 — Enlisted personnel from across Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst took part in the inaugural Better Opportunities for Single Service Members event on July 29, 2023, at Army Support Activity Fort Dix. The event encompassed the initial stages of acquiring scuba diving certification under the guidance of trained professionals, as part of a Joint Base initiative aimed at enhancing resilience and camaraderie among its young and promising members... The BOSS program provides activities to single service members in the dorms, single parents, and geographical bachelors. These events include life skills, outdoor recreation, leisure activities, and community service opportunities.

Defense Health Agency Members Visit 87th Medical Group at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst
May 25, 2023 — Members from the Defense Health Agency visited Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to gain perspective on the unique capabilities and mission of the joint base and its military treatment facilities. "The willingness to work together and embrace the joint atmosphere stands out the most to me here," stated U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Tracy Easill, Deputy Director of the Small Market and Stand-Alone Medical Treatment Facility Organization (SSO) for the DHA. "The people impress me more than anything else." Easill, along with Chief Master Sgt. Paul Ellis, the senior enlisted advisor to SSO for DHA, toured the joint base to witness the staff in action and gain insight into JB MDL's unique MTFs. They also visited Deborah Heart and Lung Center, which recently partnered with the 874th Medical Group to establish the Primary Care Partnership Clinic. "The staff's willingness to learn and adapt is prominent here," stated Ellis. "The complexity of the jointness at this base is exceptional, and they have showcased their interoperability."... MORE

JB MDL brings back 'Power in the Pines' after Five-Year Hiatus
May 23, 2023 — After a five-year hiatus, Power in the Pines returned with the 2023 Air and Space Open House at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J from 20 - 21 May. The ASOH is the largest public event held at JB MDL, showcasing air superiority from both the ground and sky. The flight line also displayed a variety of aircraft and vehicles from many services of the military, as well as their guard and reserve components... MORE

Power in the Pines returned after a five-year hiatus with the Air and Space Open House from 19-21 May, 2023, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. The ASOH is the largest public event held at JB MDL, showcasing air superiority from both the ground and sky. The flight line also displayed a variety of aircraft from many services of the military, as well as their guard and reserve components. These visuals served as a representation of JB MDL’s commitment to working with Joint Partners daily to support our national defense, and to thank the local community for its continued support.

87th MDG implements AFFORGEN deployment model

The Army Aviation Facility Project was a MILCON effort valued at 11.7 million dollars and made possible through the joint effort of ASA Fort Dix and the U.S. Marine Corps Marine Aircraft Group 49. The 2100 square foot building is host to an Army Ramp Management Area which provides a wide range of capabilities for both fixed and rotary wing aircraft such as the C-130, CH-47S, and UH-60S. The addition of the new Army Ramp will provide enhanced load out and aviation operation training capabilities, parking for Army aviation aircraft, refueling, troop movement and flight planning operations for approximately 216,000 people that use JB MDL to meet readiness requirements.
