Joint Base MDL Opens Up 'Sean's Room'
August 10, 2023 — Service members assigned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst have another safe place on base to address and strengthen their mental well-being. The joint base celebrated the soft opening of Sean’s Room during a ceremony July 10. Temporarily located in the McGuire Passenger Terminal, this new service is modeled off Sean’s House, a program based out of Newark, Delaware, Sean’s Room provides a safe peer-to-peer environment for JB MDL personnel to receive mental health support and confidentiality in accordance with the law. ... Sean's Room, an extension of the Sean's House based in Newark, DE, has a primary purpose to provide a haven for members, civilians and defendants as a go to for informal mental health support, a sense of belonging and licensed counselor support.

87th LRS Hosts Inaugural Cross-Utilization Course
August 3, 2023 — The 87th Logistics Readiness Squadron successfully created and hosted its inaugural Cross-Utilization Training course at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., July 17-28, 2023. Instructors from the 87th LRS, 305th Aerial Port Squadron, and the 373rd Training Squadron, Detachment 301 facilitated the Utilization Course which incorporated a comprehensive curriculum, combining classroom-based learning and hands-on training that can be utilized in a deployed environment. ... The course was developed to implement Air Force Force Generation principles and support operational concepts such as Agile Combat Employment through 10 days of intensive training. The collaboration between 87th LRS, 373rd Training Squadron, Detachment 301, and 305th Air Mobility Wing personnel enabled the use of Multi-Capable Airmen Concepts by building their proficiency, knowledge, and comfort in different Air Force Specialty Codes.

Service members manage stress with 'Bright and Beautiful' Therapy Dogs
July 12, 2023 — The 87th Air Base Wing Security Forces Squadron in partnership with the Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs organization hosted a visit for service members and their families at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. on 23 June, 2023. Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs is a non-profit organization that trains, evaluates and qualifies dogs and their handlers to become certified therapy dog teams. 305th AMW celebrates a century of air mobility
June 28, 2023 — On June 27, 1923, The U.S. Army Air Service conducted the first aerial refueling mission, passing 75 gallons of gasoline through a hose from one De Haviland DH-4B to another. This marked the first air-to-air refueling using a gravity-flow hose. To commemorate this historic date, the 305th Air Mobility Wing participated in Operation Centennial Contact. Airmen from the 305th AMW joined Air Mobility Command wings from around the nation to carry out air refueling demonstrations over the United States and overseas, displaying 100 years of air refueling experience. The operation showcased that today’s U.S. Air Force is able to deliver unrivaled rapid global reach for U.S. forces and Allies and partners through the Mobility Air Forces fleet of KC-46, KC-135 and KC-10 tankers. ...
