McGuire's last KC-10 Extender returns from CENTCOM

By Senior Airman Matt Porter 87th Air Base Wing

McGuire AFB's last KC-10 Extender returned from Central Command, marking an end to over thirty years of air refueling support provided to the U.S. and coalition partners through both peace and war, beginning with Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990-91, through the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and punctuated by Operation Allies Refuge in 2021-22.

"After nearly 40 years of executing our mission of global sustainment with the KC-10 Extender, we strive to continue to be the World's greatest refueling Squadron and maintain that standard of excellence as we convert to the KC-46 Pegasus." - Lt. Col. Derek Rankin, 32nd Air Refueling Squadron commander
