305th AMW SERE Operations conducts Water Survival Preparation

U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 305th Air Mobility Wing’s Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Operations, pose for a photo at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. on 15 June, 2023. The 305th SERE Operations Team won the 2022 AMC SERE Specialist, Trailblazer and Program of the year awards. Additionally, the team recently partnered with Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., to provide aircrew with realistic scenarios where flight crews must work together in order to survive a potential aircraft crash in the ocean. Exercises like this help build interoperability and standardized training capabilities throughout different service branches and our allied partners.

The 305th AMW flies last sortie with the KC-10

Canetta is a part of the last crew to fly a local KC-10 Extender sortie from the 305th AMW. The 305th AMW extends America's global reach by generating, mobilizing and deploying KC-10 Extenders and C-17 Globemaster III’s to conduct strategic airlift and air refueling missions worldwide. In November 2021, the Wing began transitioning to the new KC-46A Pegasus air refueling aircraft.

The 305th AMW extends America's global reach by generating, mobilizing and deploying KC-10 Extenders and C-17 Globemaster III’s to conduct strategic airlift and air refueling missions worldwide. In November 2021, the wing began transitioning to the new KC-46A Pegasus air refueling aircraft. Additionally, the Wing operates two of America's largest strategic aerial ports supporting the delivery of cargo and personnel to combatant commanders abroad.

U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst attend the Knucklebuster award banquet on 6 May, 2023 at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. The Knucklebuster award banquet is an annual Air Force-wide event that recognizes the maintenance career field's best maintainers and leaders. Open to families, the banquet also functions as a social event where various forms of official military uniforms both past and present, are allowed to be worn.

605th AMXS Crew Chief Embodies the Warrior Heart

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Austin Sondergard, 605th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, performs pre-flight checks on a KC-10 extender at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. on Oct. 10, 2022. Sondergard received brain surgery to remove an arteriovenous malformation, and later suffered losses to both memory, speech, and motor skills due to a stroke. Recovered, Sondergard returned to his duties as a Crew Chief and hobby as an avid powerlifter.

305th Pilot awarded by the Order of the Daedalians

A C-17A Globemaster III is set as the backdrop for the 305th Air Mobility Wing’s ceremony for the presentation of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force 2021 Exceptional Aviator Award on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Sept. 26, 2022. The CSAF 2021 Exceptional Aviator Award was presented to U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Eric Kut, 6th Airlift Squadron Chief of Group Standards and Evaluations, by the Order of the Daedalians for his actions as the aircraft commander of the REACH871 mission. This mission resulted in the ground evacuation of 823 Afghan civilians from Kabul while under enemy fire and allowed the Air Mobility Command commander to waive C-17 floor-load restrictions from 300 to 450 passengers, facilitating the evacuation of 124,000 personnel during the Air Force’s largest non-combatant evacuation operation in history.
