Tax Office Opens

Joint base cleanup days
Due to the Air Force and Air Mobility Command reduction to grounds maintenance standards implemented in fiscal year 2014, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst will conduct periodic base cleanup days throughout the summer months. In order to comply with these directives and the associated 15% budgetary cut, JB MDL has implemented the Joint Base Common Level of Standards, changing the contract requirements for grass heights and eliminated weed control.

Walson Army Hospital Demolition
Demolition of the Walson Army Hospital and associated facilities is currently on hold. Detour around the site will continue through January 2017. New Jersey Avenue will be closed to all but local traffic between 4th Street and Summerall Avenue for the duration of the demolition and traffic will be routed around the site via North Scott Plaza, Maryland Avenue and 8th Street. 4th Street between General's Circle and New Jersey Avenue will be closed for the duration of the work. Patrons of the golf course need to use additional caution when crossing Fort Dix Road and New Jersey Avenue due to increase traffic volumes on these roads.

Construction of new dining facility
Construction of a new dining facility in the 5500 area is expected through March 2016. The affected areas include the area bounded by 8th Street to the south, North Street to the west and north, and Texas Avenue to the East. North Street will be closed for the duration of the project. Drivers should anticipate construction deliveries and equipment entering and leaving the site onto 8th Street and Texas Ave.

Recycling Guidelines 
Recycling materials must be placed
 at the curb by 6 a.m. biweekly on Thursday.
Do not place any paper or cardboard in 
your recycling bin, trash can or plastic bag.
Paper can be placed in a brown bag, 
bundled or placed in a low-lying box. 
Shredded paper must be placed in a 
paper bag or in a cardboard box. 
Cardboard boxes must be flattened 
and bundled. Cans, glass bottles and 
plastics must be rinsed clean. 
Do not flatten or place in plastic bags.
Labels can stay on but caps and lids
