Hackensack Police Department Youth Academy visits Joint Base MDL
August 12, 2022 — Class participants from the Hackensack Police Department Youth Academy came to visit Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst on August 10th. The Hackensack P.D. Youth Academy is a weeklong event that provides seventh to twelfth grade class participants the opportunity to learn about the experiences inside the military and police force. This event consists of showing demonstrations of various military drills, physical training exercises, and K-9 training and handling. Hackensack P.D. Det. Felix Katsaroans, Youth Academy class instructor, saw this event as a means to continuously strengthen the relationship between the police department, the residents of New Jersey and the joint base community... Joint Base MDL presents its first Cultural Intelligence seminar
August 2, 2022 — On July 29th, the 87th Air Base Wing Diversity and Inclusion hosted its first Cultural Intelligence seminar located at the McGuire base theater on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Time to Have Some Fun: 87th FSS and ITT continue to support Joint Base MDL

The 87th FSS works with Information, Tickets, and Travel (ITT) to support service members by providing discounted tickets to various recreational events and activities inside and outside New Jersey. AFSA celebrates Women’s History Month on Joint Base MDL
March 30, 2022 — On March 25, the Chapter 211 of the Air Force Sergeants Association celebrated Women’s History Month on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, in highlighting achievements and contributions from women in history and contemporary society, especially those that served or serve in the military. To celebrate this annual event, AFSA hosted the Women’s History panel, virtually through Zoom and Facebook Live, created as a network for women who are actively serving within the Joint Base MDL community. With a total of four panelists and 50 attendees, the hosts for this occasion were U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Get to Know You: U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Michael Wynne, 87th Air Base Wing Command Chief
February 10, 2022 — Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst welcomes U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Michael Wynne as our new 87th Air Base Wing command chief. With more than 25 years of military service, Wynne is fully prepared to take on this position to successfully lead Joint Base MDL into the future. Wynne is joined by his wife Andrea, sons Austin and Cory, and their Boston terrier Gizmo. Since the start of his military career in August 1996, Wynne progressed from being an aircraft maintainer to a squadron superintendent at the 730th Air Mobility Squadron, Yokota Air Force Base, Japan. Prior to being selected by U.S. Air Force Col. Wes Adams, 87th ABW and Joint Base MDL commander, to become the newest 87th ABW command chief, Wynne was serving as the 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing command chief at Ramstein AB, Germany... November 22, 2021 — Rodney Jester, the son of World War II 305th Bombardment Group flight engineer, Tech Sgt. Edward Jester, made a visit to the 305th Air Mobility Wing headquarters, along with his wife, Sadie, to commemorate his father's wartime service under the CAN DO Wing, on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Nov. 18, 2021. Stuart Lockhart, 305th AMW historian, welcomed the couple into the facility as he showed displays of Tech. Sgt. Jester's belongings, donated by his son, Rodney Jester, to preserve his legacy, his wartime service, and to inspire and inform today’s Airmen. Flying 29 combat missions from December 1943 to May 1944, Tech Sgt. Jester served with the 366th Bomb Squadron of the 305th BG CAN DO Group under the Eighth Air Force, “The Mighty Eighth,” based at Chelveston, England in the air war against Nazi Germany during that conflict...
