Joint Base MDL commences weeklong Leading Edge program
October 12, 2022 — Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst kicked off the Leading Edge program through the week of October 3 - 7. The Leading Edge program was designed to prepare all service members in the ranks of E4 to E-6 with the basic foundations to further support joint base operations. During the program, students were required to work in small groups, comprehend and synthesize information presented to them, and create solutions to the capstone objectives provided. The required courses included into the program were the joint perspective panel, the damage control assessment course, and the capstone panel, just to name a few. The endgame for the Leading Edge program was to train selected service members with the necessary tools, knowledge, and resources to become future military leaders, in order to serve their nation moving forward... September 30, 2022 — The Air Force Civil Engineer Center Geo-Integration Office and the 502nd Air Base Wing visited Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst the week of September 26, 2022 to collaborate with the 787th Civil Engineering squadron. Together they performed and demonstrated high resolution imagery and 3D modeling of multiple hangars at Lakehurst. A Time to Heal: JB MDL kicks off Suicide Prevention Month
September 23, 2022 — September is a time of healing. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst recognized Suicide Prevention month to raise awareness on suicide prevention in continuing to improve the community’s mental health and wellness. Joint Base MDL leadership attends Suicide Prevention Month declaration signing
September 7, 2022 — On Sept. 6, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst leadership attended the Suicide Prevention Month declaration signing event at Tommy B's lounge on Joint Base MDL. The main attendees of the event were U.S. Air Force Col. Wes Adams, Joint Base MDL and 87th Air Base Wing commander, U.S. Navy Capt. Frank Ingargiola, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst deputy commander and Naval Support Activity commander, U.S. Army Col. Mitchell Wisniewski III, Joint Base MDL deputy commander and Army Support Activity commander, and Janis Doss, Suicide Prevention Program manager. Hackensack Police Department Youth Academy visits Joint Base MDL
August 12, 2022 — Class participants from the Hackensack Police Department Youth Academy came to visit Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst on August 10th. The Hackensack P.D. Youth Academy is a weeklong event that provides seventh to twelfth grade class participants the opportunity to learn about the experiences inside the military and police force. This event consists of showing demonstrations of various military drills, physical training exercises, and K-9 training and handling. Hackensack P.D. Det. Felix Katsaroans, Youth Academy class instructor, saw this event as a means to continuously strengthen the relationship between the police department, the residents of New Jersey and the joint base community... Joint Base MDL presents its first Cultural Intelligence seminar
August 2, 2022 — On July 29th, the 87th Air Base Wing Diversity and Inclusion hosted its first Cultural Intelligence seminar located at the McGuire base theater on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. This event provided the joint base community with the opportunity to learn about the true meaning and relevance behind cultural intelligence, and how it could impact the organizational structure of today’s military workforce, from present to the future. Time to Have Some Fun: 87th FSS and ITT continue to support Joint Base MDL
July 12, 2022 — As the summer season kicks off, the 87th Force Support Squadron continues to bring fun and excitement to the joint base community. The 87th FSS works with Information, Tickets, and Travel (ITT) to support service members by providing discounted tickets to various recreational events and activities inside and outside New Jersey.
